Find the Unique and possess the whole. This truly is our highest, most sublime privilege. It is in the law of this unity that is, as long as we understand it, our immutable force. Its living principle is the force that resides in truth - truth is one.
It's this sort of thing that puts people off meditation and transcendentalism. I was talking to this guy the other night who went on a meditation course. He had to do twelve hours a day. Now that's gonna make you think about things. Also nice to be out of the ratrace for a bit, not have to worry about voting, or paying bills or anything. A great weight is lifted. No wonder people bugger off and do it, you have no cares, no responsibility. Also the fact that the teachers are so cryptic, you don't have a choice but to sit down for twelve hours to try and work out what the hell they just said. Me, I'm a great believer in truth, honesty, integrity. It's funny how so many people you encounter aren't. They are almost afraid of it. Why do you tell me stuff that isn't true? Do you think I can't tell? More importantly, how does it make you feel any better? It doesn't, does it?
Okay, so I voted. There was one politician (labour) outside the building, who stood in my way, stared into my eyes, grabbed my hand, and said he was pleased to meet me. Big red rosette, as if the power of colour would make me vote for the Dark Lord himself. I asked if he'd voted. Then ran as he drew breath. I doubt, living in the posh, clean upper middle class are of Bristol that my vote will really count for anything. I imagine this corner is pretty much sown up with all those Tory voters who defected when they found out that Tony is more Right Wing than anyone had imagined. Still, I'll watch and hope slightly...
Only one day of work at Ents24 left. New phase of life about to begin. Well. Working holiday. If I am very lucky I'll be able to get this stupid database finished very quickly - there isn't actually too much work to be done. I have to write a 'manual' on how to use it and go and train a (possibly incompetent) person to get reports and stuff out of it. Very good experience, I guess.
In the news the other day - Drummy (see here
), who has been in prison ever since he bottled a policeman for asking him to be nice to people for a change back in February
has been fiven four years. The judge told him he was a dangerous man. When they went to arrest him proper, he was frying 'stuff' with his crash helmet on (crash helmet = 'on one') and he threw all the oil at the copper. Yay for Drummy, you might say. But no. So the neighbourhood will be one nutter quieter for a few years.
